The second day of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Forum 2025, held in Lviv, was dedicated to technical tours of wind farms built under the challenging conditions of the full-scale war. One of the key destinations was the Nyzhni Vorota wind farm in Zakarpattia region, where MCL Group provides a full range of ecological services.
MCL’s specialists accompany the project throughout all stages of environmental assessment, including:
field surveys (ornithology, chiropterology, flora, and fauna);
monitoring and data analysis in line with European methodologies;
comprehensive conclusions supporting further project development.
This approach ensures project owners both compliance with international standards and confidence in the bankability of every step.
Participants of the technical tour were welcomed by:
👤 Mykola Gerasymenko, Founder and CEO of MCL Group;
👤 Yaroslav Kovhan, Deputy Director for Environmental Affairs;
👤 Katherine Knysh, Director of Business Development.
Fieldwork on site was carried out by ornithologists Oleksandr Fedun and Volodymyr Popivka, who continue ongoing monitoring for the project.
A special highlight of the tour was the visit of Giles Dickson, CEO of WindEurope, who personally inspected the ecological monitoring process and emphasized its importance as a fundamental component of wind project development.
MCL Group once again demonstrated its unique role in the industry: we do not simply research and advise — we help to build responsible and sustainable wind energy in Ukraine, even in wartime and under the challenging conditions of mountainous regions.
