MCL AT THE OPENING CEREMONY OF JETRO KYIV OFFICE

At the special invitation of Japanese partners, MCL was represented at the opening ceremony of the JETRO Kyiv Office

On October 10, 2024, Kateryna Hordiienko, an environmental engineer at MCL Group, took part in the grand opening ceremony of the JETRO Kyiv Office in Ukraine. The event was graced by the presence of Denys Shmyhal, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, as a special guest.

The JETRO Kyiv Office is a branch of the Japan External Trade Organization, an independent administrative entity under Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry. The office has been established to foster trade and economic collaboration with countries around the world. Its mission includes gathering information about the current situation in Ukraine and the needs of Ukrainian companies to share with Japan, as well as facilitating partnerships for Japanese companies looking to enter the Ukrainian market with new business ventures.

According to the Prime Minister, collaboration between Ukraine and Japan is particularly vital in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, engineering, and IT. “It is the private sector that will drive the reconstruction of our country and further economic growth. The rebuilding of Ukraine is a large-scale modernization effort, and Japan has the experience to support this,” noted Denys Shmyhal.

Moreover, the governments of both countries are working on updating the agreement between Ukraine and Japan regarding investment promotion and protection. Japan plans to allocate at least €160 million to support Ukraine’s economic recovery projects.

Japan aims to expand its presence in Ukraine’s investment market by joining programs supporting joint Ukrainian-Japanese business projects. MCL could be an attractive partner in such initiatives, offering a wide range of services, from environmental consulting to project design and development,” commented Ms. Hordiienko.

MCL Group extends its gratitude to our Japanese friends and the JETRO Kyiv Office for inviting us to this event! We remain committed to comprehensive cooperation and partnership in the fields of energy, environmental sustainability, and project development!
